The study also looked into the community\u2019s knowledge, perception and attitudes towards MRFs in their barangay together with the analysis of gender considerations. The study did interviews with MRF personnel in each barangay, and interviews with community residents living close to MRFs.\u00a0 Results were analyzed using descriptive statistics and basic gender gap analysis. Results showed that the MRFs are female-dominated workforce, and that there is a need for increased education and awareness about MRFs and recycling initiatives in the community. Residents generally have a positive perception of the MRF. Female respondents tend to have a slightly more positive perception of the MRF than male respondents.
